My mother said I sang before I talked. I always loved music. When I was a young teenager I sang with numerous doo wop groups and in my late teens and early 20's I had  success with a group called "Illusion". We recorded 3 albums on Paramount records and played with some of the great bands like Hendrix, The Who, The Vanilla Fudge, The Allman bros etc. just to name a few.

 In my early 30's I was in a group called "Network" on Epic records. We were managed by the famous Tommy Matola and did a world tour with Hall and Oates. You can check out some additional information on the Illusions official web site. http://distortedrock.tripod.com/


   I started selling musical equipment in the early 80's and worked for such guitar companies as Dean, B.C Rich, Guild and others. 

  Dillion guitars was founded in 1996. Dealers and consumers instantly started calling me John Dillion because I answered the phone and emails John "Dillion" Guitars.
 and the name stuck. 

I have always tried to make the best guitars I could in the [mid-price] range. I learned a long time ago you can't please everyone  so you have to please yourself. Hopefully you own one of my instruments and you are pleased with it and that's all I can hope for.

I have been a professional musician for 40 years In addition, I have been an avid guitar collector for just as long, owning over 200 guitars, including almost every style GIBSON Les Paul ever made.
Once I got turned on to the DILLION 6500 series of LP’s, not only was I AMAZED at the quality of workmanship and choice of high end materials, the actual tone and action and "feel" of this , nothing short of a work of art, is AMAZING. Forget that the guitars costs THOUSANDS less then the equivalent GIBSON product, it is BETTER in every way. 
I proudly now carry the ENTIRE LINE of ALL his guitars, which ALL meet or exceed the GIBSON, FENDER, RICK, etc . As I turn my professional friends in the industry on to DILLION, as well as all my customers here in my store, It is INCREDIBLE how the folks, after playing and inspecting the DILLION PRODUCT, forget the "name" on the head stock, and walk out of my store with their new "baby" cuddled in their arms, with a BIG SMILE on their face and a whole lot of extra cash in their pocket.
John Dillion AKA John Vinci is a  man that HONESTLY is passionate about his product, PROUD of it and it WONDERFUL to work with and talk to.  He knows more about guitar manufacturing that ANYONE I ever met, and that includes some well known folks.
